Things that should be included in Vehicle Servicing!

Updated: Sep 9, 2022

The cost of routine maintenance is less than the cost of major repairs resulting from neglect. One of the most common ways to kill a flawlessly good vehicle is to overlook basic maintenance. Driving on the same spark plugs for an extended period, failing to change the oil, and ignoring squealing brakes or strange clunking noises can lead to irreversible vehicle damage. Maintaining your vehicle in good condition keeps you relatively safe on the road and can save you a lot of money in the long run. So, read on to learn more about car service and what it should include.

What exactly is a car service?

A car service is similar to a routine physical examination, but it is performed on your vehicle. This could be as thorough as a 50-point checklist, or it could be as simple as a service and repair that addresses the wear and tear items. It is significant because your safety is heavily reliant on your vehicle. Although you may feel uneasy while steering and can repair minor issues such as tire punctures and oil changes, only a professional can diagnose and repair the problem. So, the next time your car's engine light flashes, bring call your local & professional mobile mechanic for assistance.

Different types of car service:

Understanding car servicing can be difficult for those who aren't mechanically inclined. When it comes to having a mobile mechanic taking a look at your car, you should know the basics. You want to ensure that it is returned in top condition in terms of safety and functionality, as well as understanding what happens to your vehicle while the mechanic is working on it. The quality of the car service and the checklist differs slightly from one centre to the next. There are three primary kinds of car services:

Basic Service:

The essential fluids in the engine, such as antifreeze, brake fluid, washer fluid, and steering fluid, are topped up as part of the basic service.

A check of up to 35 key components is also performed to ensure the vehicle is in the best possible condition. The brakes are also examined following the manufacturer's recommendations. If the car requires additional service, it is also recommended; however, not all garages provide this service.

Complete Service:

In comparison to basic servicing, a full service typically includes 15-30 additional checks on the car's components. Additionally, if the car requires any additional maintenance work, there will be an additional charge in addition to the basic service.

Major Service:

The major service includes everything covered in a full service, plus a change of fuel filters, a change of spark plugs, and some other wear items/services recommended by the manufacturer's guidelines. There will be no mainten

ance or additional repairs included in this.

These three broad categories are suggested for various periods based on wear and tear, pressure, and vehicle mileage. In addition to the points mentioned in the general service checklist. These are a few examples:

  • Cooling and heating

  • Braking system

  • Clutches

  • Engine

  • Exhausts

  • Suspension & Steering

  • Alignment & Puncture of Tires

  • Fuel System Flush

  • Replacement of the battery

  • Repair of the Gearbox

  • Cambelt Replacement

  • Repair of Collisions

  • Changes of Oil

  • Repair of the Cooling System

Why is regular car service important?

It may seem pointless to having your car maintenaned now and then, especially if you drive flawlessly. While everything may appear to be in order on the surface, your car's internal workings require inspection and adjustments. If you perform routine maintenance now, you will extend the life of your vehicle and save a lot of money in the future. What requires maintenance today will require repair or replacement the following day. Furthermore, a well-maintained car is more inclined to be fuel-efficient.
